CONPASS is a compact 200-capacity live space in Higashi-Shinsaibashi, one of the central districts of Osaka’s Minami entertainment area. Its programming is notably broad rather than being tied to a single genre. Current 2026 listings range from alternative and indie rock to hip-hop, electronic music, singer-songwriters and crossover projects, while international touring artists also appear on the schedule. The relatively small standing capacity creates a close relationship between performers and audience, making it particularly suitable for visitors who want to experience Osaka’s independent music culture at close range rather than in a large concert hall. The venue is also connected with events that combine live music with DJs and other forms of contemporary culture. CONPASS opened in Higashi-Shinsaibashi in 2012 and has developed as a venue for music and cross-cultural events. Access is straightforward: Nagahoribashi Station Exit 5-A is approximately a 3-minute walk, while Shinsaibashi Station Exit 5 is approximately 5 minutes away. For international visitors, this location is especially convenient because the venue sits between the Shinsaibashi shopping district and the nightlife of Minami.

Visitor Guide
For most CONPASS performances, visitors should expect a separate drink charge in addition to the ticket price. Recent 2026 event information consistently lists 600 JPY for the drink charge, so carrying Japanese yen in cash is advisable. The current major venue listings do not list dedicated coin lockers, although older venue information has described lockers and individual events may provide temporary baggage or cloak arrangements. Because the venue has a 200-person standing capacity, the floor can become crowded, particularly for popular shows. Large backpacks and suitcases should therefore be left at a station locker before entering. Photography and video recording are not automatically permitted: policies are determined by the artist, promoter and individual event, so visitors should check the event notice and follow staff instructions. Even when still photography is allowed, avoid flash, raising a phone for extended periods, or obstructing the view of people behind you. Under Japan’s revised Health Promotion Act, which has been fully effective since April 2020, indoor smoking is generally prohibited except in legally designated smoking areas. Visitors should follow the venue’s current posted smoking rules and never smoke in the performance area or other non-smoking spaces. Re-entry rules can also differ by event, so confirm with staff before leaving the building.

Local’s Choice
- Amerikamura and Triangle Park: Walk west from the venue toward Amerikamura, Osaka’s well-known youth-culture district. The area developed from around the 1970s as shops selling imported clothing, used records and American-inspired goods gathered around the neighborhood. Its central landmark, Mitsu Park, commonly called Triangle Park, remains a meeting point for young people and visitors. It is a useful pre-show stop for exploring Osaka’s relationship with imported music, fashion and youth culture.
- Shinsaibashi-suji Shopping Street: Head toward Shinsaibashi for a very different side of Minami. The covered shopping street extends approximately 580 meters from Nagahori-dori to Soemoncho-dori and contains around 180 shops, including fashion, restaurants and long-established businesses. Its commercial history reaches back to the Edo period, making it an effective contrast to the contemporary music culture found at CONPASS.
- CRYSTA Nagahori: For an easy indoor walk before or after a show, use CRYSTA Nagahori, the underground shopping center directly connected with Shinsaibashi and Nagahoribashi stations. It extends approximately 730 meters between Sakaisuji and Yotsubashisuji, has about 100 stores and includes fashion, food, miscellaneous goods and services. It is particularly practical in Osaka’s hot or rainy seasons.
- アメリカ村・三角公園：会場から西へ歩けば、大阪を代表する若者文化の街・アメリカ村へ向かえます。1970年代頃から古着、レコード、アメリカから輸入された商品などを扱う店が集まり始め、現在まで大阪の音楽・ファッション文化を象徴するエリアとして発展してきました。中心にある御津公園、通称「三角公園」は待ち合わせ場所として知られるランドマーク。ライブ前に歩けば、音楽とファッションが結びついた大阪独自のストリートカルチャーを観察できます。
- 心斎橋筋商店街：会場から心斎橋方面へ向かうと、現代的なライブハウスとは異なる大阪・ミナミの商業文化を見ることができます。長堀通から宗右衛門町通まで約580m続き、服飾、飲食など約180店舗が並ぶ商店街です。その発展は江戸時代までさかのぼり、現在も老舗と最新の店舗が混在しています。CONPASSのインディペンデントな音楽文化と組み合わせることで、ミナミの新旧のカルチャーを一度に体験できます。
- クリスタ長堀：ライブ前後の街歩きや、暑さ・雨を避けたい場合には、長堀地下街のクリスタ長堀が便利です。堺筋から四ツ橋筋まで約730mにわたり、延床面積は81,765平方メートル、約100店舗が集まっています。心斎橋駅、長堀橋駅、四ツ橋駅などと直結し、ファッション、雑貨、グルメ、サービスを一度に利用できます。特に夏季や雨天時のライブ前後に適した大阪の地下街体験です。
